Alex Leon
Mr. Leon is the Chief Executive Officer of Epic Global Real Estate Advisors, Inc. He brings more than 40 years of real estate development and construction services experience to the firm. Over his career, Mr. Leon has been the President of Vanir Group of Companies, Inc., President of Vanir Development Company, Inc. Company, Inc., Chief Financial Officer of Vanir Group of Companies, Inc., Chief Financial Officer of Vanir Construction Management, Inc., and many other positions where Mr. Leon played a key role in the growth of the Vanir Group of Companies, Inc. until he retired from Vanir in 2018.
Mr. Leon’s expertise includes site acquisition, entitlements, financing, project management, construction, construction management, leasing and asset management. Mr. Leon specializes in build-to-suit, design-build lease and lease-leaseback delivery methods for both the private and public sector clients. During his career Mr. Leon helped to complete more than $10 billion in construction services, real estate developments, design-build and design-build lease, and lease-leaseback projects. Projects include office buildings, governmental facilities, industrial and retail properties, hospitality, medical office buildings, communications properties, and energy generation facilities. While at Vanir he negotiated, developed owned and operated design-build and lease-leaseback projects with several counites in California and the federal government. He has also worked on build-to-suits and several redevelopment projects throughout his career for the City of San Bernardino, the City of Colton, the City of San Antonio and the City of Sacramento. Mr. Leon currently has several residential, commercial, and industrial developments underway.
Mr. Leon places heavy emphasis on Project Management from the projects on-set to completion. He differentiates himself by focusing on quality, project details, building a brand, and understanding what the customer wants. He also focuses on pre-design, design-phase management, pre-leasing and pre-construction activities such as constructability reviews, value-engineering, establishing client and project budgets and cost controls. Mr. Leon puts a major emphasis on selecting the right team members, including the selection of the architect, consultants such as the structural engineer, MEP and specialty consultants, the contractor(s) and their subs, and any other stakeholders identified during the planning process. Mr. Leon has served on the Executive Committee for the prestigious Lusk Center for Real Estate Development at USC, and served on the Board of the Sacramento Valley Chapter of NAIOP. He is a member of Lambda Alpha International and has served on the Boards of the American Management Association, the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce and the Treasury Management Association. He was also a board member of the Construction Financial Management Association for many years.
Mr. Leon is a graduate of UCLA with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics and holds a Master’s degree from USC. He also holds a Certificate in Local Agency Financing from USC where he specialized in bond financing and public-private partnerships.
